Matthew 22:37–40, “And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ 38 “This is the great and foremost commandment.In this second possibility, Christ cites two Old Testament verses in response to a question from a lawyer who asked him, “which is the great commandment in the Law? (Matthew 22:36). The second position is that the Law of Christ is his declaration that the two greatest commandments were to love God and love your neighbor (Matthew 22:37-39). John 15:12, “ This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.35 “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34–35, “ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. ![]() ![]() The first is that the Law of Christ refers to the new commandment that Jesus gave to us, that we love one another (John 13:34 15:12). Nevertheless, there are two possible answers. In Galatians 6:2, it says, “Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the Law of Christ.” But, the Bible does not tell us exactly what the Law of Christ is.
